Corn Dogs

  • 1 cup Corn Meal
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup butter milk
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 TBSP white sugar
  • quart of oil
  • 16 hot dogs
  • 16 Popsicle sticks OR skewers
  1. In a deep fryer or large skillet heat oil up to 335 degrees F. A deep fryer is the safest route to go.
  2. Mix all the ingredients except hot dogs, oil and sticks. Place sticks half way into hot dog. Poor mixture into a cup or mason jar. This will make covering you dog much easier. Dip hot dogs into mixture until completely covered. Cook in oil for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. When done cooking place on a paper towel to get rid of some excess oil. Serve and enjoy.
Serves 16 - Recipe is very easy to half or quarter!
