Chili



Ingredients:

  • 1 pounds lean ground turkey 
  • 2 (14.5 oz) Cans of Diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 TBSP chili powder
          - Toppings
  • Sour cream (optional)
  • Shredded cheese (optional)
Directions:
  1. Place ground turnkey and onions in a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain.
  2. In a large pot over high heat combine all the ingredients (except topping items), mix well and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. (Note: If using a slow cooker, set on low, add ingredients, and cook for 6 to 8 hours.)
